11 JUN 2019: American Airlines cancelled more than 200 flights at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Monday as the region recovered from a powerful weekend storm, which brought heavy rain, high winds and widespread power outages.

According to FlightAware.com, more than 220 flights were cancelled by late morning at DFW, where American is the dominant airline. More than 500 DFW had been cancelled on Sunday.

At nearby Dallas Love Field, a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines said the storm’s aftermath led to some delays Monday, but that operations were back to normal by late morning.

Sunday’s violent weather in Dallas caused a crane to collapse onto an apartment building, leaving 29-year-old Kiersten Symone Smith dead and several people hurt.
