Pilot whale successfully returns to the sea

31 AUG 2017: A female short-finned pilot whale has a second chance at life after an extensive and complex return to the sea. The 725 lb. whale beached herself in Dixie County, FL on July 1. Discovered by beach goers, rescue teams from the University of Florida and Clearwater Marine Aquarium assisted the whale and transported her to SeaWorld Orlando for continued medical intervention and rehabilitation.   MORE

A LEGACY OF RESCUE AND CONSERVATION

SeaWorld's legacy of animal rescue spans more than 50 years. In that time, the SeaWorld Rescue Team has come to the aid of more than 30,000 ill, injured and orphaned animals in need. That's nearly 30,000 animals that were given a second chance at life, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the SeaWorld Rescue and Animal Care teams. It would also not be possible without the support of partner agencies, park guests, and people across the globe who take action to protect these amazing animals.   MORE

SEAWORLD SURPASSES 31,000 RESCUES

SeaWorld has reached an historic milestone over 31,000 animal rescues in our history. While we wish we didn’t need to rescue any animals, it’s amazing to see that we’ve been able to get many of these animals a second, and sometimes third chance at life. The official total for animal rescues is now: 31,103. That is more than one rescue every day for over 50 years, and more than four rescues each and every day since 2010 alone!   MORE
