12 JUN 2018: United Airlines is hoping to entice more Manhattan high fliers away from JFK and LaGuardia Airports. Betting on the 'time is money' for business travellers, United is touting transfers from downtown Manhattan to its Newark. For a mere US $2,099 for up to three travellers and an extra $100 more for up to six passengers you too can make the 10 minute transfer.

For anyone willing to pay for the convenience, United has started offering on-demand helicopter flights from three Manhattan helipads to Newark in partnership with operator HeliFlite.

It is the first helicopter transfer United has offered, said spokesman Robert Einhorn, and is available to book on United's website.

The cost includes car transfer to the airport terminal.

Delta Air Lines also offers a helicopter transfer service to JFK Airport.

United recently upped the ante for premium fliers at Los Angeles International Airport, offering exclusive perks and access to a private terminal.
